This year we are attempting to go even further in trying to remove so much of the commercialism from the Christmas season, but still give our kids deeper avenues in which to celebrate the real glory of this season. We love traditions, especially ones we can share as family. We would love to hear some of the beautiful traditions others in our community have established in their own families or even new ones they are starting.
If you’d like to share some of your worthwhile Christmas traditions, please take a moment to add a comment to this post.
This Christmas, the conspiracy continues! Stay tuned for Emmaus’ more specific plans for making a BIG difference this Advent season!
We have updated our Emmaus Calendar. Please take a moment to check it out. This is a great way to see the many opportunities that are available within our church community. Just click the following link, and you’ll be there!
As you’ve noticed, we are updating our podcast and vodcast options. If you are no longer receiving the latest podcast or vodcast, there is now an easier way to subscribe. Just go to www.emmausteachings.org, and you will be on the podcast page. Under the description of Emmaus, just click on “Subscribe,” and it will automatically start downloading the podcast into your iTunes. These are the audio only versions of our teachings.

If you’d like the full video version, just click on “Vodcast” at the top of the page, and then click on “Subscribe.” Just so you know, the videos are larger files, so they take more time to download, and will take up more space on your computer. Now you’re all set!
This last Sunday was Andrew Hornacek’s last morning with us. He is off to the Air Force this week! Andy joined us in May of 2007 for a two month internship, and decided to stick around and share life with us as a part of our support staff for another year. Andy is a good friend and brother, and we will miss him greatly! Take a few minutes to check out this video from Sunday, and remember to keep Andy in your prayers as he enters this next season of life.
Have you ever wished that you had more time to connect with others in our church community than at our “passing of the Peace” time?
We invite you to come to the “Peace in the Park” BBQ at McBean Park on Sunday, June 22nd from 6:00-9:00 pm. Hot dogs and burgers will be provided. Bring a side dish, dessert, or drinks to share!
Between 8:00-9:00 pm, we will gather for a time of worship and sharing together!
Join us after our Sunday worship gathering (around 12:45 – 1:00) on June 8th for another Emmaus Baptism Celebration. 5 from our community will be declaring their love for Christ through the sacrament of baptism! We’ll gather, as usual, at the American River Confluence in Auburn. Click here for a map.
