Advent Conspiracy
While most of us are getting ready for Thanksgiving, we at the Emmaus HUB are gearing-up big time for Christmas!
This Sunday Nate teaches the second of his two-part Advent prep series with a look at the story of the rich young ruler (Mark 10). We’ll also be rolling-out our Christmas Compassion Project, Advent Conspiracy, which includes plans for significant local, regional, and international impact. Missing Sunday will be like skipping the turkey – it just wouldn’t be right.
So bring grandma and grandpa to worship the King with some toe-tappin’ music and find out how our church community plans to subvert the dominant paridigm of commercialism at Christmas.
Oh, and don’t forget: Ember Student Ministries hosts our first annual Turkey Bowl flag football game Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) at 2:00 p.m. at Foskett Ranch School. (Way better than shopping). Peace!
At this Sunday’s worship gathering we’ll be looking at the story of the 10 Lepers from Luke 17. I hope you’ll read it before coming and begin thinking about why the one leper came back.
After the gathering, everyone is invited to join our new pastor of early faith development, Kathryn, for lunch and an open discussion about the future of our ministry with and to children.
See you Sunday!
Steve Scott teaches at Emmaus Church Community this Sunday November 11th.
